What We See In Others

It seems to me, what we hate most in others is what lies in us entirely unseen.

It’s the same flame that sparkles in our eye when another succeeds.

It’s a projection displaying its jagged edge that beckons our enemies’ retreat,

Yet what’s seen in others and ourselves somehow never meet.
